A display of just over 100 children’s books in Spanish being donated by us and friends to the Sathya Sai school in Bahia de Caraquez.

Passengers entering Ecuador are limited to two checked bags each regardless of flight category. Because we were bringing in so many books along with our personal effects, our bags weighed up to the maximum allowed 70 lbs each. Once we arrived in Ecuador, we still had a domestic flight to take to Manta. We were allowed three bags each weighing up to 50 lbs on the domestic flights. This picture shows us rearranging our luggage into six bags instead of four. Surprisingly, no one around us seemed curious.
Alfredo met us at the Manta airport. It took some serious effort to load his SUV with our six suitcases/bags plus our two carryon bags and two backpacks.
After squeezing in all of our bags, Leana and I still had a little room for ourselves. The one and a half our drive to Bahia de Carraquez was very enjoyable, giving time for Alfredo and us to catch up after a 10 month break.
