Bahia de Caraquez is an Ecuadorian town on a peninsula that juts out into the Pacific Ocean. Population a little over 20,000. It is a tourist location for mostly Ecuadorians. It is a laid back modest town. You would be hard pressed to find someone that speaks English. It has several miles of dark sandy beaches and spectacular sunsets. It is one of the few truly ecologically conscious towns in Ecuador.
